East Kilbride FC - 6

Holders East Kilbride progressed into the 2nd Round of the East of Scotland Qualifying Cup today with an emphatic 6-1 win over Gretna 2008.

Goals from Gavin Millar, Joao Victoria and Ross McNeil gave EK a 3-0 lead at half-time, with Victoria again netting after the break and further goals from Smart Osadolor and Sean Winter (pen), after Gretna had pulled a goal back.

18-year old Millar continued his impressive scoring form midway through the first half from 18-yards, before limping off injured, and Joao Victoria (pictured) struck to make it 2-0 shortly after.

Substitute Sean Winter then teed up Ross McNeil to head home on the stroke of half-time to all but seal a place in the next round.

Gretna fought back and reduced the deficit soon after halt-time, but EK turned the screw, with Victoria making it 4-1 on 70 minutes with his second of the match.

Substitute Smart Osadolor then made an immediate impact, scoring with his first touch, and Sean Winter struck from the penalty spot after McNeil had been fouled, continuing his impressive stat of scoring in every game so far this season.

EK are back on Lowland League duty next Saturday when they travel to Prestonpans to face Preston Athletic.
