East Kilbride FC turned in an impressive pre-season performance to defeat a Partick Thistle X1 4-0 at K-Park on Wednesday night.

All four goals came in the second half after a tight first 45 minutes, and Kilby took the lead a minute after the break, when Anthony Marenghi slammed home from close range after Joao Victoria's cross had been parried.

The lead was doubled five minutes later when skipper Barry Russell rose highest to glance home a header from an inswinging Marenghi corner.

It was then left to returning striker Joao Victoria to put the gloss on an impressive showing in the closing stages, firing home on 75 minutes, and converting a penalty 9 minutes from time to complete the scoring.

The win and performance was a great boost to Martin Lauchlan's side ahead of their next friendly against Eastleigh at K-Park on Saturday, as preparations continue for the first Lowland League match on Saturday 30th July.
